Just weeks after announcing her pregnancy, SuperSport presenter Motshidisi Mohono was treated to a surprise baby shower that left her overjoyed and grateful. The beloved media personality shared glimpses of the special event on her social media, showcasing the intimate white and brown-themed celebration organized by her closest friends and family.
Motshidisi, who has been a prominent figure in sports broadcasting, recounted how her friends completely surprised her with the shower. “They got me so good. Preggy brain would’ve never allowed me to put two and two together fast enough,” she joked. She explained how her varsity friends, Nyiko and G, had planned the entire day under the guise of a simple outing before the baby arrives. Little did she know, they had been planning the shower for a month without her suspecting a thing.
“When I saw we were on the road that leads home, I thought, ‘maybe they want Mom to be part of this moment as well.’ Meanwhile, they had the whole thing planned out,” she shared, expressing her delight at the thoughtful surprise. The shower was a heartwarming gathering filled with joy, love, and prayer, which Motshidisi described as “beyond my wildest dreams.”
Upon arriving at the venue in a casual ensemble of white pants, a cardigan, and a top, Motshidisi later changed into a stunning white dress by her stylist, Taryn Ullbrecht. The emotional moment was highlighted by the sounds of Judith Sephuma’s Mme Motswadi, a tribute to the incredible bond between Motshidisi and her mother, as well as her own journey into motherhood.
“We walked out to Judith Sephuma’s Mme Motswadi ; an ode to her for the incredible mom she has been to me, but also an ode to me as I step into motherhood. I love you Ma. Your excitement brings me so much joy, and I can’t wait to see you with the little one,” Motshidisi wrote, reflecting on the significance of the day.
