South African actress and media personality Stephanie Ndlovu has opened up about her grief following the loss of her father, whom she fondly described as a “beacon of light and hope” within their community. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Ndlovu reflected on the profound impact her father had on those around him, expressing how deeply he was cherished by both his family and the people he served.
“People always told me what a legend my Dad was in the community, a beacon of light and hope, a true servant. I’ve always known that you were kinda a big deal but this really exceeded my own expectations,” she wrote, highlighting the widespread admiration for her father.
In her emotional tribute, she recalled the warmth of her father’s random visits, often marked by his cheerful presence. “I’ll miss your random visits, reminding me you’re ‘here to see your grandchild’ but then asking, ‘Have you cooked?’” she shared, capturing a memory of his loving and lighthearted nature.
Ndlovu also expressed her pride and gratitude for the legacy her father left behind, writing, “I’m so so proud of you De. Well done good and faithful servant. I really wish we had more time with you but God had other plans, rest well & I’ll see you again.”
She concluded her post with a poignant memory of her father’s favourite song, one that they listened to during his hospital visits. “This song was on repeat over the last 6 weeks, every hospital visit—‘Steph, play that song’—it’ll always remind me of you,” she shared, keeping the connection to her father’s memory alive through music.
