The anticipation is palpable as the 7th Royalty Soapie Awards draw near, promising a night of glitz, glamour, and unforgettable moments. This year’s event, set to take place on August 24, 2024, at the Heartfelt Arena in Pretoria, is poised to be the most glamorous yet. Among the nominees, a host of South Africa’s most beloved actors and actresses are vying for top honours.

Zikhona Sodlaka has received a nod for ‘Outstanding Lead Actress’ for her compelling portrayal of Bulelwa Mxenge on “Gqeberha: The Empire.” Her performance has captivated audiences and critics alike, making her a strong contender in this prestigious category.

Rising stars Mahlatse Moropoand  and Lethabo Mekoa have both been nominated for ‘Outstanding Newcomer’ for their roles on “Skeem Saam.” Their fresh talent has breathed new life into the show, earning them well-deserved recognition.

Veteran actress Sindi Dlathu and the formidable Deli Malingaare both in the running for ‘Outstanding Female Villain’ and ‘Outstanding Lead Actress.’ Dlathu’s role in “The River” and Malinga’s in “Skeem Saam” have showcased their incredible range and depth, making them standout performers this year.

Elizabeth Serunye, known for her role as Jacobeth Thobakgale on “Skeem Saam,” has also been nominated for ‘Outstanding Lead Actress.’ Her portrayal of the strict, yet caring principal has resonated with viewers, cementing her status as a fan favourite.

The fierce Nokuthula Ledwaba has been nominated for “Outstanding Female Villain” for her role as Angelina on “The River.” Her character’s cunning and ruthlessness have left audiences on the edge of their seats, making her a formidable nominee.

In the male categories, Sello Maake Ka Ncube has been recognized for his role as Kganyago on “Skeem Saam” with a nomination for ‘Outstanding Lead Actor.’ His powerful performance has been a highlight of the show.

Bheki Mkhwane (“The River”) and Mduduzi Mabaso  (“DiepCity”) are both vying for ‘Outstanding Male Villain.’ Their captivating portrayals of complex antagonists have earned them critical acclaim and fan admiration.
