Sponono Radebe Opens Up on Painful Split: “I Trusted This Guy”

Sponono Radebe, who became known to viewers as the estranged wife of Married at First Sight Mzansi Season 2 star Themba Khosa, has finally shared her painful side of the story. Speaking openly on the Engineer Your Life Podcast, Sponono revealed shocking details about her 12-year relationship with Themba and how she found out that the man she trusted had married another woman while she was at home raising their children.

Themba Khosa recently made headlines after being exposed for hiding his wife while appearing on the reality TV show, sparking outrage among fans. For the first time, Sponono has broken her silence to explain how everything unfolded from her perspective.

In the episode, which premiered on YouTube on Tuesday, Sponono told the host, Lungelo KM, that she only discovered Themba was part of the show by chance. “I didn’t know. I only found out about the show later, I think, later December or early January. When I was using his laptop, that’s when I saw the messages from ‘Married at First Sight’ saying you are going to the next stage and whatnot. And then you talk about it, he is like I am doing it for my career. I was not happy about that, but the person has decided and has gone through the stages without even consulting with me,” she explained.

Despite her shock, Themba reassured her that his decision was for the benefit of their future. “What he did was to assure me that okay I’m going to come back home. I trusted this guy. He made me understand that I’m doing this for us. I was like okay baby, you go and work,” Sponono recalled.

But things quickly changed after he left home to film. Sponono said she noticed a difference almost immediately. “And then for the first week and then the second week, that’s when you started fighting. OK, I cannot answer your calls. I’m busy shooting. You know, it’s not normal work, you must check up with me and make sure I’m OK. So that’s when the fight. Because I wrote to the show a week into the shooting. Not now, after seeing the episodes. A week into the show. Now this guy is changing me? This is not what we agreed on,” she said.

According to Sponono, she even turned to Themba’s family for help. “I called his family because I was in contact with them and I would call and they would say that ‘No, Themba cannot be doing this’ and whatnot. They’re the ones who advised me to write to the show,” she added.
