South African singer Tyla has been selected to receive the prestigious Best International Achievement Award at the 30th South African Music Awards (SAMAs), set to take place on November 2 at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand.

The SAMAs shared the exciting news on social media, posting, “We wish to announce that this year’s International Achievement Award recipient at the #SAMA30 is @tyla.” The post continued, “Tyla has taken the music world by storm, earning numerous local and international accolades. Her impressive achievements include a Grammy for Best African Music Performance, a BET Award for Best International Act and Best New Artist, as well as a VMA for Best Afrobeats.”

In addition to these accolades, Tyla was also recognised at the Basadi in Music Awards for Highest Airplay, further proving her remarkable talent and growing influence in the industry. “With every milestone, Tyla continues to fly the South African flag high, proving that South African music is celebrated at home and recognised globally,” the SAMAs added.

The “Jump” hitmaker leads this year’s nominations with five nods, competing in categories including Album of the Year, Best Female Artist of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, Best Pop Album, and Best Collaboration for her track “Water” featuring Travis Scott.

The upcoming ceremony will also honor South African music legends Sipho Makhabane and Ringo Madlingozi with Lifetime Achievement Awards. Makhabane, hailed as a key figure in gospel music, will be recognised for his dedication to nurturing new talent, while Madlingozi will be celebrated for his soulful rhythms and decades-long contributions to the music world.

The 30th SAMAs promise to be an unforgettable night, with Tyla and these legendary artists at the forefront of the celebration.
