TV and radio star Somizi Mhlongo recently had a heartwarming experience while on the All Gold Dance Challenge School Tour, where he met the family of Big Brother Mzansi Season 5 winner, Sweet Guluva, whose real name is Akhona.
Somizi took to Instagram to share the special moment and his excitement about the tour. He wrote, “Yesterday was very special. My @allgoldsa family visited @sweet_guluva’s former school and we had such a blast. The kids are one of the most disciplined bunch I’ve ever seen. The teachers were so welcoming. Then I met Guluva’s family. My goodness! He’s definitely in great hands. Oh I now call him by his birth name lol. Akhona woza la. Akhona this and that. lol. Went to his home for lunch but I had to rush to Durban to catch my flight. Everything about this campaign is exactly what @allgoldsa is all about.”
Somizi and Sweet Guluva visited Mgazi Secondary School in Nquthu, KwaZulu-Natal. The day was filled with laughter, music, dancing, and delicious food. The learners at the school were thrilled to meet both stars, and the joyful atmosphere truly reflected the spirit of the All Gold brand.
The tour also took them to Tembisa SOS (Commerce & Entrepreneurship School of Specialisation), where the energy was just as high. All Gold SA shared their excitement on social media, saying,
“With @Somizi on the mic and Mzansi’s very own @sweet_guluva officially joining the All Gold family, it was a moment to remember. A true lover of local flavour, Sweet Guluva brings his passion for culture, community, and All Gold to the squad – and we couldn’t be more excited.”
The All Gold Dance Challenge School Tour is all about encouraging young people to express themselves through dance and music. It also aims to give back to the community and support youth empowerment.
