South African musician Sjava is set to take his talent to one of the world’s biggest fashion stages as he performs at MaXhosa Africa’s upcoming Paris Fashion Week show.
The multi-award-winning artist has been announced as the live performer for MaXhosa Africa’s Spring/Summer 2027 presentation, which will take place on 28 September.
The show will be an important milestone for the South African luxury fashion house, founded by designer Laduma Ngxokolo. MaXhosa Africa is set to present its first full runway show on the official Paris Fashion Week calendar, bringing 60 pieces to the international stage.
The annual international fashion exhibit runs from 28 September to 6 October 2026.
Sjava will add a musical element to the highly anticipated fashion presentation as MaXhosa Africa continues to use its international platform to celebrate African creativity and identity.
The combination of fashion and music has become an important part of MaXhosa Africa’s presentations, with the brand bringing together South African talent and its distinctive designs.
Sjava has also spoken about what the opportunity means to him and the significance of representing South Africa on an international platform.
According to IOL, the musician shared his gratitude during the MaXhosa Africa Paris Fashion Week SS26/27 press conference, describing the occasion as an important moment for himself, the country and the continent.
“Thank you so much for having me be a part of an occasion like this; it’s history in the making for me, for our country, continent,” Sjava said.
The musician went on to thank Laduma and the MaXhosa Africa team for creating an opportunity that he once viewed as something that might never happen.
“A big thank you to Laduma, MaXhosa Africa, for making sure that we get to experience things like this, things that we always looked at as a dream and would never happen, but today here we are.
“We’re part of something so big, so thank you so much. Thank you so much, everyone who’s a friend of the brand, who supports the brand.”
MaXhosa Africa’s Paris Fashion Week journey reached another major milestone after the brand was officially approved by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (FHCM) to present a full runway show on the official calendar.
The approval came after several attempts in July, paving the way for the fashion house to make its full runway debut in Paris.
Now, with Sjava set to perform and 60 looks scheduled to be showcased, the MaXhosa Africa show is expected to bring together South African fashion, music and culture in the heart of Paris.
Sjava will perform on 28 September, marking the first day of Paris Fashion Week.
