Sjava, the award-winning artist known for his soulful sound and powerful stage presence, is bringing fans on a nostalgic journey with his newly announced The 2018 Tour. Aligning with the release of his Inkanyezi Live EP and Inkanyezi Live DVD, now available on YouTube, the tour celebrates a standout year in Sjava’s career—2018.

That year was a milestone for Sjava, marked by the release of his hit sophomore album Umqhele and the Umphako EP. Both projects not only dominated the charts but became classics in South African music. Now, Sjava is returning to some of his favourite stages, bringing the magic of those 2018 performances back to life while also expanding to new cities.

The tour kicks off on March 30 at Cape Town’s Green Point, Salesians AFC, and will make stops across the country, including two nights at Durban’s Playhouse Theatre on April 11 & 12, and performances at Pretoria’s State Theatre on May 23 & 24. Bloemfontein’s Sand Du Plessis Theatre will host the tour on June 6, before Johannesburg welcomes two powerhouse shows at the Joburg Theatre on August 15 & 16. The journey will conclude in Emalahleni at the @PlayTsogo Dome on September 20.

Tickets are available through Webtickets, giving fans the chance to experience Sjava’s iconic live performances once again.

2018 wasn’t just a breakthrough year locally; it was the year Sjava received international recognition, including a BET Award and a collaboration on the Kendrick Lamar-produced Black Panther album. The 2018 Tour is more than a trip down memory lane—it’s a celebration of the albums and songs that shaped Sjava’s artistry, from “Ikhandlela” and “Linda” to the anthemic “Abangani.”

Reflecting on live performances, Sjava shares the deep connection he feels with his audience: “The way I am able to connect with my supporters and fans during live performances is so profound and has been an anchor for me in my career. Even during the toughest of times, when I am on stage and the flow and exchange of light and energy is happening between me and the crowd, everything inside and all around catches a fire; a bright burning fire. That’s what keeps me going. That is what I do it for.”

The 2018 Tour is more than just a concert—it’s a tribute to the music, energy, and cultural richness that has defined Sjava’s extraordinary journey. Fans won’t want to miss this unforgettable celebration of an exceptional era in music.
