Simz Ngema Reflects On How She Has Evolved As An Actress And The Role Sindi Dlathu Played. The actress and musician is known for depicting the notable character of Thuli Nkosi on SABC 2’s Muvhango. The character is what captured audiences’ hearts and has since gone to lead her to greater heights in acting.
Simphiwe recently took to her Instagram a page, to pat herself on the back for the steady progress she has made in the acting industry. The actress says that she had no premonition whatsoever, that having started acting at the tender age of 16 she would be where she is today.
“I was 16years old when I started in the industry. Didn’t know what to expect and didn’t really know how drastically my life would change. I was just a young girl with big dreams (still am),” her post read.
She further went on to thank one of her ex-cast members in Muvhango, the legendary and highly esteemed actress, Sindi Dlathu for guiding her. Simphiwe says that being in the spotlight wasn’t one of her ultimate goals but rather focusing on honing her acting skills.
“I’ve been blessed to have a big sister @sindi_dlathu that has always had my back. I just wanted to be a performer and I didn’t like the fame. So I stayed in my little corner, hardly made industry friends and just kept doing me. As I grew and found myself, I then started opening up because I felt safe enough to do so,” Simphiwe added.
On making a name for herself and consistently working hard to making her name and brand have more exposure, the actress said she was more than satisfied with her steady progress. And that people should expect more from her.
”I am proud of the brand I’ve built. I’m proud of the woman I’ve become. Everything I’ve done has been intentional. The acting, the music and influencing and I am at a point in my life where I am completely myself and I am fearless. This is the beginning of a new chapter. #17yearsandcounting,” she concluded.
Recently, the actress bagged herself another major acting gig on 1Magic’s series ‘365 Days’. She has been cast alongside Cedric Fourie as the lead actors. It will be interesting to see if she keeps audiences hooked to their screens with her acting skills.
