Former Miss South Africa Shudufhadzo Musida is celebrating a major achievement after completing her Master’s degree at Columbia University in New York.

The model and mental health advocate recently shared moments from her time at the prestigious Ivy League university as she reflected on her journey and how much the experience meant to her.

Taking to social media, she shared a heartfelt message that read, “Pens down. Incoming @columbia Grad. To God be all the glory. The last 12 frames from my first year of school hit different now. From the first week of orientation to the end of first year.”

On her X account, formerly known as Twitter, she also posted a short message that simply said, “Mastered.”

Shudufhadzo completed her Master of International Affairs (MIA) at Columbia University. Fans, followers, and celebrities quickly congratulated her and praised her for the important milestone.

Before studying at Columbia University, Shudufhadzo had already built an impressive educational background. She completed a short course at the University of Cape Town under the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment. The course focused on Property Development and Investment and took 100 hours to complete. She received the certificate in October 2021.

She also earned her degree in philosophy, politics and science from the University of Pretoria. After that, she obtained her Honours degree in International Relations from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2020.

Outside of academics, Shudufhadzo continues to use her platform to encourage conversations around mental health and personal growth. She hosts Mindful Mondays with Shudu, a podcast that focuses on emotional wellness, self-awareness, and navigating life challenges through honest storytelling.

In 2023, Shudufhadzo Abigail Musida also released her second children’s book titled I am Shudu: Finding My Voice, Knowing My Strength.

Her first book, Shudu Finds Her Magic, was inspired by her own childhood experiences with bullying after moving to a new province and school. The book was created to help start conversations about bullying and mental health, especially in schools.
