Sho Madjozi, the multi-award-winning musician known for her high-energy performances and Xibelani dance style, is bidding farewell to the music world. The 32-year-old from Limpopo revealed her plans to release a final album in 2025, marking the end of an era in her music career. But before she steps away from the spotlight, she has exciting new projects in the works.

In a recent interview with Daily Sun, Sho Madjozi shared her plans to create a documentary on the history of Xibelani, the traditional dance style she’s so closely associated with. Alongside the documentary, she’s also working on a cultural festival, with hopes of turning it into a major event. “I want to create a Xibelani festival in my village which becomes as big as a carnival in the Caribbean,” she said.

Her latest single, Ndi Rine, serves as a preview to her third and final album, set to drop in early 2025. In the song, Sho Madjozi collaborates with Venda pop star Makhadzi and maskandi artist Gatsheni, blending Xitsonga, Xivenda, and isiZulu influences. The track celebrates cultural evolution and happiness in relationships.

Beyond music, Sho Madjozi is focused on sharing her culture in new ways. She envisions directing films based on village life, creating Tsonga-inspired fashion, and documenting traditional Xitsonga food. “I want to learn from elders before they’re all gone,” she said, adding that she hopes to improve education and create more opportunities for young people in her village.
