Late last night, just a minute before midnight, South African singer-songwriter Shekhinah excitedly announced the release of her brand-new album titled Less Trouble on Instagram. Known for her soulful voice and catchy pop music, the 30-year-old artist shared the news with her fans in a heartfelt post.
She wrote, “If you’re seeing this my album LESS TROUBLE is out now at Midnight love you all until until until see you at @rosefest.za.” Alongside her announcement, Shekhinah revealed the album’s artwork. The cover shows her holding an open book, displaying the album’s synopsis and tracklist.
The synopsis beautifully describes the album as “A book on more heartbreak, but less heartache. The art of going in absolute circles. We are no strangers to falling in and out of love. Put together sincerely by Shekhinah.” This sets the tone for what listeners can expect, a deep and personal journey through love’s ups and downs.
On her Instagram, Shekhinah also shared more about what Less Trouble means to her. She posted a video snippet from her conversation with singer Nandi Madida on the #AfricaNow Radio show on Apple Music. In the clip, Shekhinah explained, “I really want it to communicate that things start off really badly, it seems catastrophic and it seems like the world is over most of the time. I know, I can relate but at the end of the day things always work out how they’re meant to be.”
She continued, “That’s what the album really is, it starts with break up season and then it ends in a bang. I really want people to take that on, I want them to know that it could be trouble now but it will subside.”
With Less Trouble, Shekhinah invites her fans on an emotional ride from heartbreak and pain toward healing and hope, reminding everyone that tough times don’t last forever. The album is now available for streaming and promises to be a heartfelt soundtrack for anyone navigating love’s challenges.
