Social media users were recently left talking about a supposed new reality show, Glam & Grind, but SABC 1 has now confirmed that the show is not part of its upcoming programming.
The alleged reality series quickly gained attention online after promotional posters featuring familiar South African personalities began making the rounds. The posters appeared convincing enough to spark conversations about the cast, storylines and the supposed drama that viewers could expect from the show.
SABC 1 has warned its audience that the posters are not genuine and that Glam & Grind is not an upcoming production on the channel.
On 25 August 2026, the broadcaster took to its official Instagram accounts to address the rumours. In a post labelled “FAKE NEWS ALERT”, SABC 1 urged viewers to be careful about information being shared online.
The broadcaster wrote on Instagram: “FAKE NEWS ALERT. Please note that these shows are not coming to SABC 1. The posters circulating online are not official.
“For accurate programming updates, please follow SABC 1’s official platforms.”
Before SABC 1 addressed the situation, the supposed show had already attracted attention through posts shared by gossip pages buzzyb_sa (Buzzy B) and thepopcornroomsa (The Popcorn Room).
Buzzy B shared polished promotional images describing Glam & Grind as “An SABC1 production.”
According to the post, the fictional series was supposedly going to run for 13 episodes and follow the lives of club hosts and “slay queens”.
The claims did not stop there. The post created an entire storyline around the supposed cast, including alleged tension surrounding a six-month GAC car sponsorship.
Other supposed storylines included a birthday celebration linked to unpaid-debt claims and a Venda celebration. There were also claims that some of the personalities were showing off designer items that were not authentic, including “Fake Birkin bags, Chanel, and questionable Gucci pieces.”
Adding to the confusion was the fact that the posters used the names and images of personalities who are already known to the public.
Dineo Moloisane was among those listed. She is known for her lifestyle and fashion content, as well as her YouTube “Confessions” series.
Doro Mongy, whose real name is Semakaleng Mathobela, was also named as part of the alleged cast. She is known for her work as a club host and has also been described as an entrepreneur.
Former Big Brother contestant Khosi Twala was another name attached to the supposed production. Since appearing on the reality show, Twala has continued to build her profile as an influencer and has become known for her glamorous red-carpet appearances.
DJ Amanda Zinhle was also included on the posters.
With the names of several recognisable personalities attached to the project, the alleged reality show appeared believable to many social media users.
SABC 1’s statement, however, has now put the rumours to rest.
The broadcaster has made it clear that the promotional material did not come from its official channels. Viewers have therefore been encouraged to rely on SABC 1’s verified social media platforms for announcements about new shows and programming.
For now, there will be no Glam & Grind on SABC 1, despite the attention the supposed reality show received online.
