SA Celebs React To The Passing Of Celebrity Chef Lesego “LesDaChef” Semenya #RIPLesDaChef. Mzansi has suffered yet another tragic loss after reports have confirmed that celebrity chef Lesego Semenya, affectionately known as Les Da Chef has passed away at the age of 39.
According to reports, Semenya had contracted COVID-19 but had given his friends and fans hope of making a recovery. The news has made the people of twitter uneasy, and they have since confirmed that this is indeed a blue Monday. Lesego was apparently suffering from a pre existing health condition which made him vulnerable to the virus.
Semenya had shared his stress over not getting the vaccine, especially being a person who has pre-existing health conditions. According to the tweets from some of the people who knew him, he had complained about having a sore throat before going to the doctor. On the 5th day of his recovery, Semenya gave his followers an update of how he was doing health wise and it seemed as though he would eventually pull through but Unfortunately, he did not make it.
“Still fighting this Covid demon whilst living with a comorbidity. I’m OK, loads of medication and keeping positive. Thank you to those who keep checking up on me. Dr reckons I’ve seen the worst of it now and it’s just about recovery and rest now.” he wrote.
Semenya has worked at five-star hotels and luxury game lodges. He has been a private chef for a wealthy affluent families and was a judge on the SABC cooking reality competition Top Chef. He has his own company called LesDaChef and a cook book. The late chef was also part of SAFTA winning show Celebrity Mystery Box and many more TV and radio projects.
Lesego’s death has shocked the masses especially SA celebs, who have reacted to the news of his passing and have taken to twitter to pay tribute and share their heartbreak over the tragic news.
