SA Celebs Celebrate DJ Black Coffee Winning His First Grammy Award! Congratulations are in order for internationally acclaimed, and our very own proudly South African DJ, Black Coffee on winning his first Grammy Award for his album ‘Subconsciously’, in the Best Dance/Electronic Music Album category. This is also the first time Black Coffee was nominated in this category.
Black Coffee was in attendance at the 63rd annual Grammys Awards ceremony held in Las Vegas where he accepted his Award in person accompanied by his oldest son, Esona. After thanking everyone involved in the making of the Grammy winning album Black Coffee turned his attention to his family giving a shoutout to his son on stage and his other five children back home.
“I want to thank God for the gift of music and being able to share it with the world and heal some souls. I want to thank my family, I want to thank my children… this is my first born son (pointing to Esona), this is my first one tonight, I have five more (kids) so I’m coming back,” Black Coffee said in his acceptance speech.
The Grammy’s were hosted by another proudly South African star making the nation proud, Trevor Noah, who seem to have taken one of his best friends, media personality Sizwe Dhlomo as his date to the biggest night in music. Most of Mzansi including some of our favorite celebs woke up to the exciting news and took to social media to celebrate one of our own on his big win. Check out some of the reactions below.
