The wait is almost over for South African viewers as the Miss World 2026 Finale prepares to take centre stage on television. With the highly anticipated pageant heading towards its conclusion, all eyes are on South Africa’s own Romanda Hombir, who is currently representing the country in Vietnam.
The Mpumalanga-born audiologist and founder of the Caring Purpose Foundation was crowned Miss World South Africa 2026 on Saturday, 18 July 2026. Since then, she has been on a journey to represent South Africa on the international stage and is now preparing for one of the biggest moments of her reign.
The 73rd Miss World pageant will take place in Vietnam on Saturday, 5 September 2026. South African viewers will be able to follow the highly anticipated finale from home, with the Miss World 2026 Finale airing LIVE on Saturday, 5 September 2026 on DSTV’s M-Net Channel 101 at 14:00.
As the finale approaches, Romanda has already been making an impression during her time in Vietnam. On the 2nd of September, she dazzled more than 10 000 spectators at the Miss World dances event.
For the occasion, Romanda wore a South African inspired dress featuring South Africa’s flag and the face of the late Nelson Mandela. Her look gave her an opportunity to proudly showcase elements connected to her home country while standing alongside contestants from around the world.
Romanda’s journey has also received plenty of support from Bokang Montjane-Tshabalala, the former Miss South Africa who is the national director and license holder for Miss World South Africa.
Bokang recently shared an emotional message congratulating Romanda and reflecting on the journey they have taken together. She expressed how proud she is of Romanda as she prepares to compete for the Miss World 2026 crown.
