RHOJ Star Christall Kay Involved In Messy Drama Over Her R8 Million Mansion. Musician a businesswoman Christall Kay became instantly famous on social media not only for her appearance on Showmax’s Real Housewives Of Johannesburg, but also for her out of this world mansion. Kay’s home has appeared in many popular music videos and has also gone viral after the musician did an Amapiano dance in front of her massive staircase.
Cristall’s house is situated in the affluent neighbourhood of Kayalami which also houses the likes of Basetsane Khumalo and other high profile celebs in SA. It seems like Christall has found herself in the midst of a nightmare after her attempt at selling her home went completely wrong. According to Sunday World, Kay made a deal to sell her Kyalami mansion for R8 million to businesswoman Kholeka Bubu last year in August.
Kholeka paid a deposit of just over R4 million into the estate agent’s trust account. Christall was paid R1 million of the trust monies which is when she decided to move out. The money was used to move out and also contributed towards rental fees with an agreement of the balance being paid over the next duration of eight month. Christall went on to move into a rental home in Dainfern.
“This was used up during the move and rental payments as I was living elsewhere. It was agreed that the balance of the purchase price would be paid 8 months later,” she said.
The time for Bubu to finish her payment had come and gone however, she required a grace period to pay the remaining R3 million due to insufficient funds. According to Kay it was made clear in the agreement that a three month extension would be granted at the cost of a R750 000 additional fee and all funds were non-refundable.
“These funds were necessary as I was required to incur further expenses while the transfer of the property was delayed by her. If she failed to make payment on the date set for the final payment which was the 19th July 2021 she would have to forfeit those funds as I had to carry significant expenses while the property transfer was delayed,’’ Kay further added.
Kholeka was then notified of the agreements cancellation but still failed to make payment on time. After Kay legally cancelling the sale agreement, she was served with an unapproved bond from Kholeka claiming that it did not matter whether it was paid for in full or with a bond which was irrelevant to Christall as it was not discussed.
“She argues that whether she secures the purchase price by way of a cash payment or bond will make no difference to me, that is both untrue and irrelevant.” she said.
Bubu was then ordered to move out in August but is still occupying the house illegally. Kay is shook by not only Kholeka’s refusal to move out but also her application at the High Court to try and get an order forcing her to sell her house. Christall has since lawyered up and has commenced with eviction proceedings in the Magistrates Court claiming, she is very nervous and just wants the horrible nightmare to be over.
