Relebogile Mothapo Joins Skeem Saam as Jacqui Monama

Relebogile, who was born in August 2010, has always been passionate about the arts. From the age of five, she knew she loved performing. Whether she was singing, entertaining, or simply taking part in creative activities, she felt drawn to the spotlight. This year, she decided it was time to take a professional step into acting, and her big break arrived when she was chosen to join Skeem Saam.

Speaking about her dream coming true, Relebogile shared her excitement.

“I’ve always wanted to tell stories that make people feel something. Being part of Skeem Saam is a dream come true,” says Relebogile.

Jacqui Monama is a complex and interesting character. She is confident, sharp, and beautiful — the kind of girl who naturally draws attention wherever she goes. But her strong appearance hides deep emotional struggles and a painful history.

Jacqui grew up without her parents, which left her battling feelings of abandonment and shame. Much of this pain comes from her mother Melita, whose affair with Mr Kgomo created lasting wounds in Jacqui’s life. After losing her home in the Season 11 fire, Jacqui’s life changed again. Now she is trying to rebuild her world while navigating teen friendships, identity, and the difficult journey of figuring out where she belongs.

Jacqui is smart, outspoken, and sometimes even defiant. She knows how to use her charm when she wants something. But beneath her bold personality is a young girl who just wants love and understanding.
