Real Housewives Of Johannesburg Star Naledi Willers Reveals Her Battle With Breast cancer. Reality star Naledi Willers shared a lengthy post on Instagram to celebrate her one year battle with Breast Cancer, and after a long and tedious fight she is now Cancer free.
Opening up about her diagnosis, Naledi revealed that she was diagnosed with stage 2 triple negative Breast cancer in November 2019 on the day of her final law exam.
“On 29 Nov. 2019 I was diagnosed with stage 2 triple negative breast cancer. This was also the day I wrote the last exam of my law degree… while waiting for the call bearing my results” Naledi wrote.
The fear of contracting the Corona virus while on Chemotherapy made her worry twice as more but she continued to fight the war with the dreaded disease, fortunately the lockdown allowed her to deal with her illness in private and she has since come out on the other side.
Willers went into detail about the process involved in the rigorous stages of chemotherapy, not to mention the drastic bodily changes that she wasn’t;t exactly prepared for.
“Unlike what is broadly assumed about dealing with cancer, the current treatment protocols include steroids to avoid allergic reaction to the drugs and even the body attacking itself… this leads to weight gain. Along with my weight gain I lost muscle mass and my skin lost its ‘youthful’ texture and elasticity” she wrote.
Naledi thanked all those who were present in her journey of dealing with her diagnosis including friends, family and doctors. She also offered some words of wisdom to women who are undergoing the same frightening journey, to not be too hard on themselves as it’s normal to feel this way.
“To other women silently judging themselves for hurting about this while going through or after treatment: you are not crazy or ungrateful just because this happens as a result of life saving interventions” Naledi wrote.
The lengthy post was accompanied by snaps of the gorgeous Naledi with her new body and hairdo, and we can confirm that she is definitely rocking the new do.
