Real Housewives of Durban star Nonku Williams recently opened up about the powerful impact her book Unapologetically Me has had on her personal journey. Reflecting on her year of growth, Williams shared how writing her story allowed her to “reflect on the next chapter of life” and taught her unexpected lessons about self-discovery, resilience, and the beauty of surrendering to life’s journey.
“Writing a book has allowed me to reflect on the next chapter of life, as the year comes to a close,” she wrote. “I’ve grown in ways I didn’t anticipate, and yes, I’ve made my share of mistakes—that I’ve owned up to as part of my humanness. Sharing my journey so openly has meant putting my life on display for people to watch, love, critique, laugh, and even learn from. But a key lesson has been learning to surrender to the journey.”
In her book, she reveals the importance of patience and trust, lessons she learned even through her journey in aesthetic transformation. “I first came in with expectations and a list of things I wanted done instantly when I consulted with my plastic and aesthetic surgeon,” she shared. “I’ll never forget how she reminded me that this would be a process, one that would require patience and trust. Over the year, my journey has been transformative, to more than just my face and body, and I’m happy and content with the results.”
Her book is not only about beauty transformations; it’s about self-care and inner strength.“I learned the importance of self-care and maintenance,” she emphasized. “I think it’s important to be surrounded by people who can be honest with you and who want the best for you.”
Williams expressed gratitude to her family, friends, and fans, as well as to her doctor and team, for supporting her journey. “I’m also grateful to my doctor, my team, my family, true friends, my fans, and most of all, my God. I pray for all our continued growth, patience, and becoming more grounded every step of the way.”
