Rami Chuene Opens Up About Being Sexually Assaulted At Age 6! In a recent interview on ‘Real Talk with Anele Mdoda’, the actress recalls the traumatic experience she suffered when she was a child.

Rami says she was abused for the first time when she was six years old and it carried on until she was eight years old. This is the first time the actress has openly talked about her traumatic childhood experiences since writing her memoir, ‘We Kissed the Sun and Embraced the Moon’.

“I had to book into a hotel when I was writing about that chapter. I didn’t know how I would be emotionally when I went to that place and didn’t want my children to see me in that space,”  she told Anele.

Rami shared that writing the memoir brought back many horrific memories of her childhood. “I then started to remember why I have always hated one ply toilet paper and also why I never liked Vaseline – because the man who had abused it liked it.”
