Singer Phumeza Mdabe Reflects On Her Role Models. She is a mother, a musician, a wife, an actress and also a television host. If you ever wondered how she does it all with so much grace, Phumeza herself has shared and given credit to the women who came before her being her anchors.
From her mother, her grandmother and her grate grandmother, the star took to Instagram sharing how these three women shaped the woman she is today although she never got to meet her grandmother and great grandmother. Her mother passed on when she was only 15 years old. The actress shared how her own experience has taught to make memories with her loved ones.
“The older I get, the more I feel the spirits of the warrior of women surrounding me. My mother, my grandmother, my great grandmother. I didn’t have the privilege of meeting them physically and didn’t spend sufficient time with my mother either who passed when I was 15. But I’ve heard so much about their strength and tenacity, specifically my grandmother whom I believe is my guardian Angel,” she shared.
“On days when I feel like I don’t have the strength, something always says, ‘you can do this, you can figure this out’, it’s always, ‘I hear the problem, I need a solution and fast’. True to these women, they always found a way. I always get a little sad when I think that one never got the chance to experience the energy of these women. But man, I’m so lucky that even on the other side, they are with me 🥺This year alone has taught me so much! Life is tough. It’s survival of the fittest. As long as one takes a breath in the morning, it’s another day to try and take all the lessons our spirit selves are here for. Not to chase things that we’ll leave here. But to live in the hearts and memories of those souls who connected deeply with our souls. Like our children. To love as hard we can. To leave legacies. To say, I was here,” Phumeza added.
