Penny Lebyane Opens Up About How Her Health Struggles Have Affected Her Life. TV personality and radio presenter Penny Lebyane has been on a weight loss journey, and we can see the hard work already paying off. We all have our individual problem areas which take a bit longer to shed than others, and Penny is opening up about hers.
Taking to Instagram in a lengthy post, the Massive Metro host shared her struggles with losing belly fat regardless of her efforts. According to the veteran radio presenter there is a medical explanation behind it that sound a little more serious than we expected.
Penny revealed after consulting a doctor about the issue, she was diagnosed with a conditional named Umbilical Hernia. Apparently the condition worsens with more exercise and will eventually need surgical repairing.
Umbilical Hernia is a condition in which the intestine protrudes through the abdominal muscles at the belly button. Many infants are born with an umbilical hernia and can also be acquired in adulthood, more often in women. Hernias that don’t close with age may need surgical repairing.
Penny used to joke about getting cosmetic surgery to flatten her tummy not knowing that it was an actual serious issue. Lebyane has tried every trick in the book to get her dream core area including diets, workout regiments etc but they unfortunately have also failed to work.
Umbilical Hernia is something that many people unknowingly live with. Penny has a little regret inside for being so hard on herself and the way she made herself feel bad about not being able to hold in her stomach for long periods of time. Lebyane spread awareness about the condition to her followers and urges that it is never to late to seek help.
“Sadly with all that hard work at the gym l have finally got to learn why my tummy won’t get flat actually I’m told the more l do the stomach exercise it will get worse my doctor says??. I have an #umblicalHernia which will need repairing. I used to tease that l need tummy tuck well it looks like l was right something needs to be tucked back in, I just didn’t know until recently? l did everything to understand why the middle part of my tummy/my core just doesn’t get stronger no matter what l do. I changed my eating, went on a gut healing journey wt @the_dripbar gut coach because l understood the impact of #depression, #anxiety and #stress on ones #guthealth. I did gut cleansing, totally removed red meat from my diet still nothing changed? Considered #fatfreeze they refused to give me one cos of the suspected #Hernia l did more research and consulting even for a #tummytuck#liposuction everyone said you need to check your #Hernia. Well it’s confirmed l have #umbilicalhernia a birth defect that many live with unknowingly and don’t even know it can be fixed. The thought of how l was so hard on my self about not being able to breath in and hold my tummy in for years, I wish l knew earlier but it’s never too late. Anyway it could have been worse. Looking at the best way to manage the next phase of this journey.” she wrote.
