Pearl Thusi, celebrated actress, media personality, and businesswoman, is all set to get a taste of the Comedy Central flames in her upcoming roast. Following in the footsteps of other Mzansi stars, Thusi will step into the spotlight as the latest celebrity roastee, with “The Comedy Central Roast of Pearl Thusi served by Smirnoff Spicy Tamarind” set to be recorded at Johannesburg’s iconic Gold Reef City Lyric Theatre on Saturday, November 2, and aired on December 8.

According to IOL, Pearl “Queen Sono” Thusi, known for her fearless presence on screen, will be the next local figure to take on the challenge, facing a panel of her entertainment industry peers. “After many years in the entertainment industry, I’m no stranger to pressure – and I’m fully prepared to handle whatever the Roasters throw at me. So believe me when I say I’ll bring my A-game for this one!” says Thusi.

This time, she’s returning to the stage as the roastee, a role she’s ready to embrace with grit and humour. “Returning to the Roast, this time as the roastee, I’m looking forward to having fun in the hot seat and giving as good as I get. If the Roasters think they will get me to squirm, they have another thing coming!”

Monde Twala, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Paramount Africa, and Lead at BET International, expressed his confidence in Thusi’s resilience and wit: “We are looking forward to seeing the Black Pearl show off the mettle that has propelled her to where she is today. We have no doubt she will be showing her Roasters the spiciest of flames on the night!”

The filming will take place at the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City, Johannesburg, on Thursday, November 21. Tickets will soon be available via Webtickets for fans eager to see Thusi bring her legendary spirit to what promises to be a roasting full of humour, heart, and plenty of spice.
