Pearl Thusi Respond To Backlash After Twitter Accused Her Of Insensitive Comments About Alcohol After The #FamilyMeeting, The president recently announced that the country has officially entered into the third wave of the pandemic Usually when this happens, the country introduces stricter measures to try and curb the spread of the virus.
With that being said, South Africa is officially on level four and alcohol has been banned for two weeks. This also include the sale of alcohol being prohibited for on-site and off-site consumption. Another restriction killing the livelihood of many is that all gatherings whether indoors or outdoors or prohibited include political cultural, social and religious gatherings.
Pearl Thusi took to twitter to boast about having prepared her alcohol stash before the ban was introduced, and proceeded to joke about how people though she was crazy for taking the precaution a few weeks ago. Pearl was very proud of having trusted her instincts and stocking up on her booze. The actress then claimed that those who are going through alcohol FOMO should keep away from her Instagram story because she is going to be flexing.
A concerned tweep responded to Pearl and her bragging by sharing that there are far more important things to consider with the new restrictions, including the businesses that have to close and people who are going to be left unemployed.
Pearl apologized for her comments claiming that she didn’t mean any harm, and is very sorry about those who will be affected income wise by the restrictions. She added that she remains hopeful that the government will stop disappointing its people through corruption. She continued to share how worried she is by all the homes that are affected by Gender Based Violence, as job loss has also become a factor in the rise of GBV cases.
The Queen Sono actress went on to share how it’s a miracle that she has survived the emotional whirlwind that come with the bullying on and off the social media platform. This influenced her decision to delete her tweet about her alcohol stash because she has learned from passed experiences how people on twitter always find something negative in everything she posts.
She shared that she has also survived loss and other painful encounters since the pandemic came in to play and because she hardly posts about it, that doesn’t mean that she can’t relate. Pearl revealed how she is in a good place emotionally and doesn’t want anything disrupting her happiness. She concluded that only her loved ones are responsible for the joy that she feels in her life and will not be bullied by those threatening ing by cancel culture.
