Times are getting hard for everyone, prices are going up and our earnings aren’t, meaning that many people are becoming more spend-conscious. More people are taking on a strict budget, looking to get more info on potential deals, and splurging less on clothes and luxury items. We’ve even seen some celebs downsize on their parties and their spending sprees, that’s how you really know something is up.
But maybe our local celebs can learn a thing or two from Pearl Thusi. Pearl is not playing in the slightest when it comes to her hard-earned coins. The star took to Instagram to share some of her secrets on how to save your money which anyone can use regardless of status. And perhaps the best tip Pearl Thusi shared was that she goes shopping at a second-hand clothing store.
“Mama Panther’s first hand look. Bought second hand. If it has to be expensive so you feel good, you’re the problem. I like things, but sometimes we slay our bank accounts unnecessarily & suffer. #staywoke #R300only #genuineleather, she captioned the above photo.
Obviously, shopping second-hand means good clothes at a reduced price since they’ve already been worn, but that doesn’t mean they’re worn out. Second-hand stores only display clothes that still have some life in them, in fact, you can contribute too. Are there any clothes you can’t fit into anymore or haven’t worn for years? Give it to a second-hand store and maybe it can find a home with someone who can wear it. Who knows, maybe you’ll see Pearl or another celeb donning that jacket you gave away.
Here’s more of Pearl being a smart shopper.
