Many celebrity moms are proudly sending their kids off to prom, and Pearl Thusi is no different. The media personality recently celebrated a very special moment as her daughter, Thando Mokoena, attended her matric dance — and she looked absolutely breathtaking.
For her big night, Thando wore a stunning custom-made dress by well-known designer Gert Johan Coetzee. The dress was a beautiful black and brown corset gown, carefully embroidered to perfection. Thando was clearly in love with her look and thanked Gert in a heartfelt message.
“Another special thank you to Gert. This dress is everything I’ve dreamed of and more. Thank you so much. You are an incredible designer. I had an amazing time brainstorming this dress with you, and it came out even better than we imagined. I’m beyond proud of the work you have done and beyond grateful for everything. I love you,” she wrote.
Before heading to prom, Thando posed for a series of family pictures. Her father, Walter Mokoena, was also there, sharing the proud moment with her. Fans quickly filled the comments section with love and support, happy to see the close family bond. In one playful post, Thando joked, “Prom 2025, but we finna pretend it was an MD,” showing off her fun and relaxed personality.
Pearl Thusi couldn’t hide how proud she was. She shared her excitement on Instagram, posting sweet messages about her daughter. Pearl explained that Thando gave everyone strict instructions not to post anything before she did. Like any proud mom, Pearl waited patiently and then proudly commented on her daughter’s post, saying, “Look at God. He truly blessed me and the world with you.”
In another post on her Instagram Stories, Pearl became emotional, saying, “I cooked this meal for 9 months!!! 9 months and almost 18 years!!!! And I’m so proud and honored that God thought I was the mom you deserve. You are my whole world.”
Pearl couldn’t help but laugh at how much Thando had grown up. She joked, “We were given strict instructions not to post her before her. She didn’t even want to do a collab with me! Miss independent. And who’s going to explain her posing to me because WHO IS THAT?!?! It can’t be my little girl! Who is this lady making me pay for stuff and living for free in my house?! Where is my little girl?”
The night was truly a proud and emotional moment for Pearl Thusi, who, like many parents, couldn’t believe how fast her daughter had grown.
