Former Coca-Cola Pop Stars sensation and soap opera actress, Pam Andrews, has traded the spotlight for a new life in the UK with her son, revealing her courageous struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and the toll it took on her acting career.

In a recent video on X, Pam shared her decision to step away from the entertainment industry, citing unresolved trauma as the driving force. “I started therapy recently because I am broken,” she bravely confessed, highlighting the disruptive impact of her past experiences without delving into specifics. Despite numerous attempts to return to acting, Pam admitted to grappling with hormonal imbalances, panic, depression, and anxiety each time.

Prioritising her role as a mother, Pam emphasised the importance of therapy and support systems. “I’m undergoing good therapy. Apparently, I might have PTSD…” she revealed, shedding light on the disorder’s symptoms, including vivid flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, and intense distress triggered by past traumas.

Reflecting on her journey toward healing, Pam acknowledged the guilt associated with childhood traumas and the importance of self-awareness. “It’s good to understand why I struggle with certain things,” she explained, emphasising the value of recognising personal triggers and coping mechanisms.

To empower others facing similar challenges, Pam shared her insights into overcoming PTSD, advocating for therapy, self-care, and understanding triggers. With her resilience and openness, Pam inspires others to confront their mental health struggles and prioritise self-care on the path to healing.

PTSD, a disorder triggered by frightening or dangerous events, manifests through vivid flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, nightmares, and intense distress. Pam’s experience highlights the complexities of childhood traumas and the guilt associated with past actions.

To overcome PTSD, experts recommend seeking therapy, practicing self-care, and developing coping mechanisms. Recognising symptoms early and understanding personal triggers are crucial steps toward healing. With Pam’s courage to share her journey, she inspires others to confront their mental health challenges head-on.
