We first met Pam Andrews through The Coca Cola Pop Stars show as a member of 101, remember that? It wasn’t very successful or was it? I mean South Africa Idols made it longer than that, right? Well that’s none of my business and that is not why we are here right now.

We thought Pam’s singing career was done after she left the Pop group and joined the acting scene first in the drama Backstage and now Rhythm City.Well Pam Andrews has announced that she will be leaving the E-tv soapie Rhythm City soon.

Our sexy vixen has been playing the role of Gail October on Rhythm City for the past 7 years, yes Rhythm City has been on air for the past 7 years, soon it will hit a decade! The last episodes that will have Gail in them of Rhythm City will be aired in June.

“I am not done with acting but right now I want to focus on building my solo music career,” Pam Andrews said.

Speaking about her new journey, Pam told Daily Sun: “You know me – I am crazy! Sometimes I just want to randomly dye my hair green but I can’t because of my soapie character. Now I’ll get the chance to explore my musical talent.”

Pam said she’ll miss her co-stars in Rhythm City but she’s ready for a new challenge. After seeing other industry professionals sign to Strummer Records and other music labels, she’s decided to follow her passion just like they have.

“I’ve never fully succeeded as a solo artist. I’ve been in the studio a lot working on my music,” she said. Pam describes to Daily Sun that her new sound as dance pop and she will be releasing some new tracks later this year.

Haven’t seen much of the pop music scene making it big in South Africa, we just wish her well in her music career.
