The National Prosecuting Authority confirmed that The Constitutional Court has dismissed convicted murderer Oscar Pistorius’ application for leave to appeal his conviction.
“We can confirm we have received an order from the registrar of the ConCourt to the effect that his application for leave to appeal has been denied”, said the NPA spokesperson Luvuyo Mfaku.
Andrew Fawcett, a defence lawyer, confirmed the court’s decision and saying, “We’ll proceed to the sentencing.” The ruling by the Constitutional Court clears the way for a judge to sentence Pistorius for murder at a hearing scheduled for April 18.
