The second track on Omega Circle’s new EP Uyinkosi looks backwards as well as forwards. “Intando Yakho”, now streaming, leans on a popular hymn tradition in isiXhosa, carrying the spirit of an older song into a new arrangement.
The hymn’s core line, “Ma yenzek’ intando yaKho”, means “Let Your will be done”. It is one of the most familiar phrases of surrender in Southern African church life, and for many families it is tied to funerals, prayer meetings and hard seasons. Omega Circle’s decision to build a track around it is a sign of respect for that history, as well as a fresh invitation to a younger audience.
The verses speak honestly about the uncertainty of faith. The journey, they say, has dangers and enemies, yet every messenger comes from God, even when the reason isn’t clear. When the waves rise and the night grows long, the singer says, “Ndiyazi ukuba ukhona”: I know You are there. That line carries the emotional weight of the song, because it locates confidence in God’s presence rather than in the removal of difficulty.
The chorus repeats the surrender itself: let Your will be done in all my ways. A later section goes further, saying that whether I know or don’t know, see or don’t see, I place my life in Your hands. It is a demanding kind of trust, and the song does not soften it.
Placing this track second in the sequence gives the EP an important balance. After the confident declaration of the opening title track, “Intando Yakho” reminds the listener that faith is also submission. Praise and surrender belong together, and the pairing is one of the quiet strengths of the project.
The song is also a meaningful piece of language preservation. Much of the gospel music that reaches large streaming audiences is in English, and isiXhosa can be underrepresented on major platforms. By giving a hymn arrangement in isiXhosa a prominent place on a fifth-EP milestone, Omega Circle offers listeners who grew up with this language a song that sounds like home.
For listeners from other backgrounds, the track is an open door. The melody carries the meaning even before the words are understood, and the repeated chorus makes it easy to join in.
“Intando Yakho” is one of six tracks on Uyinkosi, which is available now on all major streaming platforms
