Ntsiki Mazwai On Why She Wants A Social Media Break. Media personality and poet said she felt the need to take a bit of a hiatus from social media because of people saying not so favourable things about her. This is because controversies have led to her reputation being tarnished.

The controversial media personality recently took to twitter, to reveal that she was blocked by Mark Pilgrim, after she made comments suggesting that Mark was a racist. This, then led to her getting dragged by his loyal fans and severely hurting her image. Fans of Pilgrim, who is currently battling with stage 4 cancer didn’t waste their time in lashing out at her. “I need a break. I’ve been getting such bad PR this year, transgenders, Mark Pilgrim’s fans, Dj mang mang, that has been newspaper @citypress …..it’s a mess…I need to go transmute their energy and send back to sender,” Mazwai wrote.

In early January, Ntsiki found herself in trouble after posting a since-deleted tweet about transwomen. The tweet read: “Can we ask people who were born as men to find another term for themselves? The term for women already exists and we won’t be erased. Find another term to refer to yourselves… transgender ladies will not do… you’re males.”

Guys I have deleted the offending tweet …..because when someone says something you have put up, hurts their feelings…..the right thing to do, is to take it down. ❤️🏳️‍🌈✌🏿🌈

The problematic and homophobic tweets were met with disgust and condemnation by LGBTQI+ organisations, with rights group ‘Gender Dynamix’ issuing a press statement. “Gender Dynamix has become aware of Ntsiki Mazwai’s posts on Twitter on 16 Jan 2023, in which she invalidates and delegitimizes transgender women. We, therefore, urge Ntsiki Mazwai to release a statement to apologize to the trans and gender-diverse community for fueling hatred,” the press statement read.
