Ntombee Ngcobo-Mzolo’s role as the host for the Season 2 reunion of The Mommy Club has ignited a flurry of reactions across social media. In a candid interview with Sunday World, Ntombee shared her insights and experiences from hosting the much-anticipated reunion.
“I thoroughly enjoyed hosting the reunion,” Ntombee remarked, reflecting on the long hours of preparation and filming. “I think I did a great job. I watched the show in preparation and tried a different approach. I wanted to address fresh issues and ask questions based on the diary sessions that the cast members saw for the first time along with the audience.”
Aware of the mixed reviews online, Ntombee remained unfazed. “As a person, you can’t please everyone,” she stated. “I did my best to get the best out of everybody and gave everyone an equal chance to address and answer questions. Some of the ladies became very quiet, and I had to prompt them to participate. A reunion is about addressing issues, and sometimes you have to dig to get people involved.”
Ntombee highlighted the varying levels of preparedness among the cast members. “Some ladies did not wait to be asked questions. You could tell they had come prepared to speak their minds,” she explained. “I do not know Mrs Mops or any of the ladies, so I think people were not okay that she was very vocal. Mrs Mops was one of the ladies that did not wait to be asked questions. She would interject when someone said anything about her. But I could not stop Mrs Mops from expressing herself the same way that I did not stop any of the other cast members.”
She also discussed the challenges of moderating the reunion, particularly with cast member Ratile.
“I I gave Ratile the opportunity to tell everyone which jabs she was referring to. She kept saying they were cut out by production and she could not give a straight answer. People can not say I was pressing her, I was actually pressing her to defend herself.”
,” Ntombee noted. “Nunurai stood her ground and fought where she needed to.”
Looking ahead, Ntombee teased that viewers can expect even more drama in the upcoming third part of the reunion, with Barbra set to share her side of the story. “Fireworks are guaranteed,” she promised.
As the social media buzz continues, one thing is clear: Ntombee Ngcobo-Mzolo’s hosting has left a lasting impression, making the The Mommy Club reunion a must-watch event.
