After nearly a decade in the spotlight, Nozuko Ntshangase known for her acting role in Diep City, has opened up about her journey in the entertainment industry, revealing that her experience has been far from what she initially expected.

According to TshisaLIVE, during a candid interview on the Access Genie Podcast, the actress expressed gratitude for the opportunities she has received, but also shed light on the harsh realities many actors face.

“When I started working in the industry, it was not what I expected,” Nozuko shared. “I didn’t think there would be a lot of fighting, a lot of injustices. I didn’t expect to find the industry in this state.”

Nozuko went on to describe the shocking conditions actors often endure, from being overworked to being underpaid. “I didn’t expect the bad side. I didn’t expect to find that in most cases, actors are overworked and underpaid. I didn’t expect the conditions actors had to work under. I thought it was Hollywood. I get shocked all the time.”

While acknowledging that the industry has come a long way, Nozuko emphasized that there is still much progress to be made. The issue of underpayment, in particular, has left her disheartened. “The industry is far from being at ‘Hollywood level,’ but the underpayment was discouraging,” she said.
