After an illustrious 15-year journey as one of South Africa’s most beloved isiZulu news anchors, Noxolo Mtshali has announced her departure from the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).

The news of her exit was shared by Mtshali herself on her social media platforms, where she poured her heart out in a touching message expressing the mix of emotions she felt as she bid adieu to her cherished role. Reflecting on her remarkable television career, Mtshali reminisced about her humble beginnings as a presenter for Kids News in 2009. From there, she climbed the ranks, delivering weather reports for the main news bulletin and eventually taking the helm as the anchor for both the lunchtime and main evening news bulletins.

 Her journey culminated in hosting the three-hour breakfast show, ‘EkhayaJikelele’, on SABC News.In her farewell statement, Mtshali acknowledged the inevitability of change and expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the public broadcaster for granting her the opportunity to grace television screens as a trusted news anchor. 

She extended her appreciation to her loyal audience, both isiZulu speakers and those who tuned in despite not understanding the language, for their unwavering support over the years.The announcement of Mtshali’s departure has sent shockwaves through her fanbase, with an outpouring of well-wishes flooding the comments section of her post.

 As she bids farewell to her role at SABC, Mtshali leaves behind a legacy of excellence, professionalism, and a deep connection with viewers that will be remembered for years to come.
