Norman Nhlapo, a former contestant on Big Brother Mzansi Season 3, has landed a major television gig as the new co-host of NBA Life Season II on SABC 2. The show, which airs every Sunday at 1 p.m., gives fans an insider’s look into the world of basketball, with exclusive NBA updates, celebrity interviews, and deep dives into how the sport influences lifestyle and street culture.

Nhlapo will join radio personality Kyeezi to bring fresh energy to the program, which features a weekly roundup of key NBA moments, interviews with sports and entertainment figures, and discussions on how basketball shapes fashion and streetwear trends.

Reflecting on his journey, Nhlapo took to Instagram to share how persistence and self-belief led him to this milestone. “They say timing is everything, right? I’ve always known I had something to offer—something real, something authentic—but for the longest time, it felt like my message just wasn’t landing. This journey hasn’t been easy, but I’ve stayed true to myself, and South Africa is about to experience something homegrown, something real.”

Nhlapo’s rise in the entertainment world has been impressive. Just a few months ago, he made it to the Top 5 in the YFM Switch Be The Next Presenter Search competition, and in December 2024, he hosted the red carpet at the GQ Men of the Year event. Now, with NBA Life, he takes on a prime-time television role, further solidifying his place in the spotlight.
