South African actress and Neutrogena brand ambassador Nomzamo Mbatha recently unveiled the brand’s latest body care range, marking another milestone in her ongoing partnership with the skincare giant. Speaking to IOL, Mbatha described her relationship with Neutrogena as “organic,” explaining that her values align seamlessly with the brand’s messaging.
“The things that I choose to lend my voice to are parallel to what Neutrogena or Kenvue wants to lend their voice to,” she shared. “I’m very grateful that we continue to want to be in this together, and it’s a brand that’s always meant so much to me.”
Mbatha went on to express her admiration for the women who have represented Neutrogena before her. “The women that have always represented the brand are the women that I’ve always been inclined to and have always felt some kind of emulation in terms of how they’ve carried themselves and how they’ve empowered women to see themselves.”
Neutrogena’s Brand Manager, Fanelwa Xhiphu, echoed these sentiments, noting the authenticity of their partnership. “It doesn’t feel like it’s forced or like a lot of effort has to go into it,” Xhiphu said. “It’s been a beautiful journey; we understand each other.”
As a public figure with a demanding lifestyle, Mbatha knows the importance of self-care, especially when it comes to maintaining healthy skin. Long days on set and frequent travel can take a toll, but the actress has learned to listen to her body and adapt her skincare routine accordingly.
“I love playing around with skincare, trying new things,” Mbatha revealed. “But I also love what my body loves, like moisturising my body while wet following a shower. I’m like, ‘Oh, my skin positively responds to that.’”
However, for Mbatha, the conversation around skincare goes deeper than just surface-level beauty. “It’s not about having perfect skin, but healthy skin,” she emphasized, advocating for a shift away from the perfection narrative, especially regarding body image and self-perception.
