Media personality and actress Nomsa Buthelezi and her wife, Zandile Shezi, have reached a beautiful milestone in their relationship, recently celebrating their wedding anniversary. Taking to social media, Nomsa shared a touching post that captured their enduring love. Posting a photo from their wedding day on September 28, 2019, she wrote, “Happy anniversary to us. On September 28, 2019, we said ‘I do’ when my star shined. You love me even when my star has fallen, you still love me. I love you.”

The couple’s love story has not been without challenges. According to TshisaLIVE, they’ve faced backlash and scrutiny for their open, unapologetic love. However, Nomsa has never shied away from standing up for her truth and the power of love. Inspired by her parents’ 45-year marriage, Nomsa is determined to experience a long and loving relationship, regardless of societal expectations. “Love has nothing to do with sexuality,” she stated. “When you truly experience love, I think you experience God… It soothes your heart to be free to feel loved. Don’t act love. Feel it.”

Nomsa is also aware of the role she plays in breaking barriers for future generations. “Even if I have to be the one to make way for those who are coming after me, I’m OK. God has used me, and I’ve been hit with many bullets for the next generation.”

Despite the criticism, Nomsa remains unwavering in her commitment to her relationship and her identity. “It took my sexuality for people to turn against me, but I needed to be true to myself,” she reflected.
