Twenty-four-year-old Nompumelelo Sobopha is one of the new brides hoping to find lasting love in the brand-new third season of Married at First Sight Mzansi. While many people dream of meeting their partner in a traditional way, Sobopha decided to take a different route by trusting relationship experts to match her with a complete stranger.

This season introduces four new couples: Hlulani Ngobeni and Nompumelelo Sobopha, Lesiba Tleane and Matshediso Maphutse, Obren Masuku and Laurinda Mabunda, and Prince Masuku and Esethu Seku. As viewers get to know the newlyweds, Sobopha has already opened up about what inspired her to join the popular reality show.

According to The Citizen, Sobopha said, “I was tired of the usual dating scene and thought, why not let the experts take a shot? Sometimes the biggest risks lead to the best stories,” she says.

She also revealed that what attracted her most to the reality show was its focus on building meaningful relationships instead of relying only on instant attraction.

“I loved that it challenged people to be intentional about love instead of just chasing chemistry. It felt like stepping out of my comfort zone for something meaningful.”

Meeting her husband, Hlulani Ngobeni, for the first time at the altar was a moment she says she will never forget. While she admits she was surprised, she was also excited to discover where their journey together would lead.

“I won’t lie, I was a bit shocked! But I was also curious and excited to see where the journey would take us.”

Sobopha also opened up about the emotions she experienced while walking down the aisle to marry someone she had never met before.

“A mix of excitement, nerves and ‘Please let this be worth it!’ It was one of the biggest leaps of faith I’ve ever taken.”

Although the experience pushed her far outside her comfort zone, Sobopha believes taking a chance on love was worth it. She hopes viewers will connect with her journey as they watch her marriage develop throughout the season.

“People should follow my journey because it’s real, relatable, and full of surprises. You’ll laugh, cringe, and probably shout at your TV a few times!”

According to Mzansi Magic, Sobopha also shared the kind of wife she hopes to be for Ngobeni. She said building a supportive marriage is one of her biggest priorities.

“I want to be the kind of partner where my husband comes home and can’t wait tell me something. The kind of partner that makes my partner feel supported.”

She added that, for her, marriage is about standing by each other through every stage of life.

“Marriage to me means partnership. It means being there for each other in our most difficult times.”

With honest expectations, a willingness to embrace the unknown, and a positive outlook, Nompumelelo Sobopha is ready to see if taking one of the biggest risks of her life will lead to the love she has been searching for. As Married at First Sight Mzansi season three continues, viewers will be watching closely to see whether her leap of faith turns into a lasting love story.
