Stepping into the multifaceted world of entrepreneurship, 24-year-old singer Nomfundo Moh Ngcobo is set to open her first restaurant, La Mar, in Spruitview, Johannesburg. The announcement comes hot on the heels of the release of her latest single, “uMusa,” featuring the acclaimed artists Msaki and Cassper Nyovest.

Expressing her excitement for this new venture, Nomfundo shared on her Instagram page that her intentions are to create job opportunities within her community. “Today, we’ve taken a significant step in providing employment opportunities for our brothers and sisters,” she exclaimed. “I’m thrilled to share that La Mar Restaurant will soon open its doors in Spruitview. All glory to God for this opportunity.”

Nomfundo’s entry into the restaurant industry aligns her with a distinguished roster of celebrities who have ventured into culinary entrepreneurship. Among them are DJ Oskido, J Something, Siba Mtongana, DJ Shimza, Benny Maverick, Nicky van der Walt, and Maps Maponyane, the latter of whom recently decided to close all of his Buns Out businesses.

As anticipation mounts for La Mar’s grand opening, the young singer’s move signifies not only a new chapter in her career but also a commitment to community empowerment and economic growth. With her infectious enthusiasm and dedication to uplifting others, Nomfundo’s venture into the restaurant business promises to be as vibrant and successful as her musical endeavours.
