Summerplace in Hyde Park was the place to be today, as Netflix South Africa hosted an elegant brunch in celebration of the 18th South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) nominees. The #NetflixSAFTAsToast event brought together the stars, and it was nothing short of a stylish affair.

Kicking off the event was Netflix SA’s Director of Content for Africa, Tendeka Matatu, who welcomed guests with an inspiring speech, setting the tone for the day’s celebrations. Matatu expressed Netflix’s pride in supporting African talent, honouring all those nominated for this year’s prestigious SAFTAs.

The guest list was a glittering display of South Africa’s finest in entertainment. Radiant in her ensemble, Pearl Modiadie stole the spotlight, while the event’s host, Hulisani Ravele, kept the energy lively. Stars like Sophie  Ndaba, Rosemary Zimu, LaConco, Samkelo Ndlovu, Clement Maosa, Sandile Mahlangu and actress Nambitha Ben-Mazwi mingled with fellow industry greats, all dressed to impress.

Adding to the atmosphere was the talented Simmy, who gave a captivating performance, leaving guests in awe. The music, laughter, and high fashion made for an unforgettable celebration of South African film and television talent.

The excitement is now building for the 18th SAFTAs, set to take place on the 25th and 26th of October 2024, where the industry will honour the best in South African storytelling  ever.
