Nelisa Mchunu Bids Farewell To Her Character As Fikile On Uzalo. It’s unfortunate that all good things have to come to an end, and that time has arrived for Uzalo actress Nelisa Mchunu. Reports have confirmed that the actress will no longer be starring on the much loved show, leaving fans beyond shook by the revelation.

Mchunu who plays the character of Fikile left viewers heartbroken after breaking up with her onscreen lover Sbu, and confirmed that she is leaving him for good. Taking to social media, Nelisa revealed that she just shot her last episode for the show the actress reflected on her acting journey on the show.

“So today was my last episode on @Uzalo_SABC1 what a ride” she wrote.

Uzalo IG page further made confirmation of the news on their official IG page and thanked the actress for dedicating herself to the character. Supporters flooded the post with well wishes to the actress for her future endeavours, expressing how they are anticipating her return to the small screen.

“Not our KwaMashu Beyoncé, Not Sbu’s Sugaring Ding-Ding!! ?? Farewell to our Beloved Fikile @neliisah There will never be one like you” Uzalo wrote.

According to the Daily Sun publication, a source revealed that Mchunu was not happy about her character being killed off and did her best to convince producers to keep Fikile on however, the production went ahead with their final decision.

The spokesperson of the show Nomfundo Zondi confirmed Nelisa’s departure claiming that producers were having difficulty with continuing her storyline, resulting in her character being cut off. 

“We didn’t announce her exit because her thing was on and off. Producers and writers were trying to see if they could continue with Fikile. They were not sure whether her storyline was continuing or not. That is why her exit was not announced” said Nomfundo.
