Actress Natasha Thahane has had an eventful 2024, juggling her career, motherhood, and personal growth. As the face of Garnier South Africa, she’s become an inspiration to many, not only for her glowing skin but also for her positive approach to life. Speaking to DRUM at the Garnier Summer School event, Natasha shared her skincare tips, career highlights, and exciting new ventures.
This year has been a milestone for Natasha, with multiple acting roles and brand collaborations. However, the biggest lesson she’s learned is the importance of peace in her life. “We see the social media work, we see the jobs coming in, but having peace in my life made it better for me to enjoy all those things,” she reflects.
Achieving peace, she says, hasn’t always been easy, but motherhood has changed her perspective. “I’ve grown. I’m someone’s mother now, and certain things that mattered then don’t matter anymore. I value my peace now,” she adds.
Motherhood has also brought profound personal growth for Natasha—spiritually, emotionally, and professionally. “God knew my son before he formed him in my womb. He’s a blessing,” she says with a smile. “My relationship with God has deepened because now I’m responsible for someone else’s life. I’ve become more intentional with everything I do, and that has brought me less stress.”
Professionally, Natasha has had a fulfilling year, with Mabaso Family Reunion standing out as a career highlight. “I’ve worked with amazing people, and it’s been great absorbing all that wisdom from them,” she shares. When asked about her favourite part of working on the show, Natasha explains, “We had fun on set. I got there, took up space, and it was fun. One of the things I like about working with a director like Mandla N is that he trusts me. When he casts you for a role, he trusts you can portray that character.”
While acting has been Natasha’s passion, she reveals that her career might have taken a different path if she weren’t in the entertainment industry. “Back then, I’d have been an accountant. But now, I’d be a pastor and preach the word,” she says. Natasha adds that her faith has played a central role in shaping who she is today. “I am where I am today because of the word of God. I always keep my faith with me.”
As Natasha continues to grow, she’s now setting her sights on the business world. This March, she’s hosting a free event to teach young people about financial literacy and investing. “I’ve been blessed enough to be surrounded by people who have taught me how to manage my money, and now that I’m grown, I want to pass on that knowledge,” she explains. The event, in partnership with Women of Influence, aims to empower youth with the tools they need to manage their finances and make informed investments. “It’s free, people just need to register and come through,” Natasha adds.
Before wrapping up, Natasha shares a powerful message: “Everything you’ve asked God in prayer is already done. Time just needs to catch up. That’s why He says that when the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”
