In a departure from previous Miss SA winners, Natasha Joubert finds herself excluded from the opportunity to participate in the esteemed Miss Universe and Miss World pageants.

Securing her victory at a splendid event on August 13, the Tswane beauty queen triumphed, marking her second foray into the competition after her Top 3 placement in 2020.

Having been the runner-up to Shudu Musida in 2020, Natasha Joubert represented South Africa at the Miss Universe pageant. Her journey, however, did not lead her to secure a position in the Top 21.

While she received permission to re-enter the Miss SA pageant, the dynamics change when it comes to international stages.

Pageant enthusiast and YouTuber Rina Hendriks provided insights into Natasha’s situation, explaining that participating in Miss Universe for a second time is an inflexible rule: “It is a set-in-stone rule that no woman may represent her country more than once at Miss Universe. There was never going to be a way for Natasha to go to Miss Universe again,” Hendriks shared with The South African.

Regrettably, Natasha faces another obstacle in entering the Miss World pageant, as the Miss SA organization opted not to renew its license for the global competition.

Amidst social media discussions, it has been speculated that Natasha Joubert’s prospects align with the Miss Supranational pageant, scheduled for 2024.

The year prior, Lalela Mswane, a former Miss SA titleholder, achieved a historic feat as the first South African and first black woman to capture the Miss Supranational title.

In a remarkable turn, the Miss SA 2022 runner-up ventured to the Miss Supranational event in Poland in July. Her participation resulted in a Top 24 placement, accompanied by the honor of securing the Miss Congeniality title.
