Even when she’s all the way in London Nandi Mngoma is still making our headlines.
According to Sowetan, the singer has decided to call it quits on her relationship with Universal Studios after a little dispute that she had with them.
The paper reports that Nandi decided to leave the record label after they have failed to market her album and pay for the studio time she used to record the album. Apparently the situation got so bad that she had to pay for her own studio time and asked Legit to sponsor one of her music video’s as she is their brand ambassador.
She told the paper: “I’m grateful to Universal for believing in me and my music from the first day that I walked through their doors. It’s been a great journey, and as they say, all good things come to an end. I’m on this new path now and I feel I’m headed on the right direction.”
The paper also reports that they have seen the termination agreement letter from Universal Music director, Randall Abrahams, which states the terms of termination.
Nandi’s manager Vista Kalipa has also confirmed the conflict between Nandi and Universal. He told the paper: “Yes, there is a disagreement between the two parties and a difference of opinion on certain matters that are privy to only Nandi and Universal.”
Vista also added that Nandi is currently working on another project concerning her music. We wish Nandi all the best and honestly at the end of the day we listen to Nandi’s music and not Universal’s so it’s really their loss.
