KFC South Africa has brought plenty of laughs to social media with its latest advertisement starring reality TV star Musa Mseleku and his four wives.
Released on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, the new advert promotes KFC’s Mighty Bucket For One, while cleverly playing on the Mseleku family’s well-known polygamous lifestyle from the hit reality television show Uthando Nes’thembu.
The commercial features Musa alongside his four wives, MaCele, MaNgwabe, MaYeni and MaKhumalo, in what appears to be a dramatic family meeting. However, instead of focusing on a serious family matter, the discussion hilariously centres around the idea of sharing food.
MaKhumalo takes centre stage during the meeting and makes it clear that she is “done sharing”. The moment adds a humorous twist to the advert while perfectly connecting the Mseleku family dynamic to KFC’s new meal designed for one person.
KFC South Africa also released a funny statement alongside the advertisement, showing that the brand was fully leaning into the joke.
“After the drama at the Mseleku’s family meeting – we as KFC SA would like to affirm that we stand behind maKhumalo. And all other SAns who are tired of sharing their food.
Let’s face it – “Mapha” has become a pandemic… In our country, in our families and in our friend groups.
As a result, we are officially releasing the first ever KFC Bucket that comes with a contract, making “Nix Mapha” your legal right.
INTRODUCING THE MIGHTY BUCKET FOR ONE. “
The advert quickly caught the attention of Mzansi on social media, with many viewers praising KFC for the humour and creative concept.
Londie London commented, “I love this soooo much.” alongside laughing emojis.
Winnie Ntshaba also shared her reaction, commenting, “This is soooo beautiful.”
Other social media users joined in on the fun, with one commenting, “This is too cool.”
Another wrote, “I thought it was Al. Come on KFC bringing families together.”
The advert has given viewers another memorable Mseleku family moment while introducing KFC’s Mighty Bucket For One in a way that taps into a relatable South African experience: wanting to enjoy your food without someone asking you to share.
With MaKhumalo making her position clear, KFC has certainly found a playful way to make its new “for one” offering stand out.
