When celebrities make a difference!
We must say footballers are known to always have a great sense of fashion outside their football skills. It’s really great when one expands their brand and goes into other business ventures instead of depending on sports alone for the rest of their lives. It’s even better when they decide to use that money to better the lives of the less fortunate.
Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs defender Morgan Gould is doing just that. Not so long ago the soccer star launched his fashion range and by the looks of things, his fans LOVE it!
Morgan was on YFM this morning with his team to shed some light on his new venture and what it aims to achieve. He also explained how he was inspired to start the fashion range after his friend were joking around with his name and All Gold Tomato Sauce.
“They say great ideas come from drunk people. Not that my friends are alcoholics,” Morgan laughs.
Gould also added that all the money that’s made from the sales of his clothing goes to help young people with their education funds through his MG Cares foundation.
“I want to do good in the community. I had the opportunity to go to school and play football and it doesn’t end there for me. I want to give other kids that opportunity. Even if I only see two kids in the next 10 years going to a good school and getting bursaries, it will be worth it.”
The footballer expressed that the desire to give back to the less fortunate comes from losing his grandmother a few months ago.
“I had the most difficult year ever. She passed on a couple of months ago. She was my pillar of strength. People who know me, know that she brought me up to be a man full of morals and respect. Everything I am is because of her.”
