Moozlie Makes a Powerful Comeback With “Go Getter” After Four-Year Music Break

Nomuzi Mabena, famously known as Moozlie, is back and ready to make waves in the South African music scene once again. The rapper, TV presenter, and creative powerhouse has officially returned to releasing music with her new single titled “Go Getter.” This marks her first solo release since her 2020 album, Spirit of an OG.

According to IOL, Go Getter was created during a music camp Moozlie hosted to help herself reconnect with her musical side. Even though she hasn’t dropped music in a while, Moozlie hasn’t stepped away from the industry. She’s stayed active by collaborating with fellow artists like Nadia Nakai, Emtee, and XXC Legacy.

At a private listening session, Moozlie opened up about her approach to releasing music. She shared that she’s choosing to drop singles first before eventually putting together a full project. The single, she says, is aimed at everyone who sees themselves as a go-getter.

“This one is for the hustlers, people on a mission,” Moozlie explained. “It’s an independent anthem as well, to be like, ‘I do it on my own. I ain’t got anybody. I do things on my own strength.’ And also, it’s like a turn-up song. Independent women are also having a good time, living softly, they are having a great life — and that is what this song is about.”

Known for her confident delivery and fiery lyrics, Moozlie has spent the last 10 years carving out her space in the male-dominated world of South African hip hop. From her days with Cashtime Entertainment to becoming a solo and independent artist, her name has become synonymous with music, fashion, and creativity.

Beyond her career moves, Moozlie says her faith is what drives her. “Everything I do is to bring glory to His name. I think that’s why I excel,” she said. She jokingly added that living in Cyril Ramaphosa’s economy is another reason to stay focused: “No one is going to save me except myself — and that’s why I work hard.”

At her music camp, Moozlie says she was reminded that she still has “it.” Despite all the changes in the music industry and her own life, she realised that it’s okay to be good at many things — and to pursue them all with passion.

“I love South African hip hop… I think the culture is brilliant,” she shared. “I think about what it can do for your legacy. I think about Riky Rick. It’s beyond music — it’s a community, dreams coming true, and faith. One of the reasons I am coming back is because I also want a chance to play. It’s such an exciting time.”

Go Getter is now available on all major digital platforms — and it’s a clear sign that Moozlie is not done yet.
