Radio presenter and reality TV star Minenhle “Minnie” Ntuli caused a stir in Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD), but when it was time to face the heat at the reunion, she allegedly didn’t show up.
Fans were eager to see Ntuli defend herself after a season filled with drama. Many expected her to attend the reunion and explain her side of the story. But to everyone’s surprise, she was a no-show.
Reported by City Press, the reunion was reportedly filmed last Friday, and fans were left disappointed. Let It Rain Films, the production company behind RHOD, did not confirm or deny Minnie’s absence. They simply said:
“We know fans are excited for the reunion and we encourage everyone to watch and see how it all unfolds. All will be revealed in the episode.”
Minnie was introduced this season as a friend of Angel Ndlela, one of the new cast members. But instead of being welcomed, she quickly earned the label of the show’s “villain” and “mean girl.” The backlash online was intense—so much so that Minnie had to make all her social media accounts private. Her TikTok account was even reported and banned.
The trouble began when she clashed with former cast member Londiwe “Londie London” Zulu, who returned this season as a guest. Minnie questioned why Londie was being invited to parties and hangouts, which led to tension. When Londie later joked about Minnie’s dress, things got worse. Even though Londie apologised, the tension remained. Viewers believed Minnie took things too far and bullied Londie. As a result, fans turned against her.
In an interview, Minnie addressed the criticism and said people online were harsh and didn’t know the full story.
“I try to separate the noise from the truth. I read what I need to grow, and I release what doesn’t serve me,” she said.
“Being flawsome means owning your mistakes, learning out loud and giving yourself grace.”
Minnie insisted she had no personal history with Londie and that the drama played out in real time.
“There’s no dramatic backstory or secret feud. What happened between us happened on the show. Emotions were high, egos were bruised and communication broke down,” she explained.
“I’ve since reflected and reached out privately to apologise. What the viewers saw wasn’t the full picture, but my actions in those moments are on me.”
She said people often think she is defensive and has an attitude, but in reality, she is caring and loyal, though she admits she can be fiery when pushed.
Minnie also said that reality TV taught her a lot about herself. “You think you know who you are and then someone presses your buttons on camera and it’s like: ‘Oh wow, is that me?’ The experience exposes both your strengths and your shadows,” she said.
Despite not attending the reunion, Minnie owned up to her mistakes and reflected on her actions—leaving fans to wait and see how the rest of the story will unfold on screen.
