Mihlali Responds To Snide Remark About Her Drinking. The social media influencer, YouTube blogger and makeup artist has been on a mission to stop involving alcohol in her fun activities. She recently clap-backed at an Instagram user for questioning if indeed she wasn’t consuming alcohol at her recent outing.
On her recent Instagram story uploads, the 26 year old had been out clubbing with her friends at ‘Konka’ nightclub. She had also been set as a host alongside rapper, Nadia Nakai. In the midst of the fun, ambiance, dancing and singing to the songs Mihlali took a picture of a ‘Red Bull’ energy drink and posted it to her story.
An unnamed Instagram user then replied to one of her story, mocking her in an indirect way asking “Are you sure you weren’t drinking there?” To which an annoyed Mihlali responded, “Stop trying to be funny ngento engahlekisiyo.”
In addition, Ndamase then went on to state that she was tired of people questioning what she shared and didn’t share online. The reason she had posted the story is to inspire people to cut permanent ties with their unhealthy relationship with alcohol.
“When one shares niyadika, when one stops sharing they’re no longer relatable. I shared something to encourage those who would like to take the same route as me, those with an unhealthy relationship with substances who felt like they can’t quit. It’s either you take something from my story or you ignore it if it doesn’t apply to you,” she said.
“People can have fun without being drunk, please don’t make me regret opening up to you guys. I did it for a month without being policed I can do it for another month and another. I know why I quit and what impact it’s had on my life, I don’t need discouraging remarks and YES I am being sensitive about it because this is something that’s very close to my heart. Have a blessed week,” she concluded.
Back in November of 2021, Ndamase had taken to her twitter to ask tweeps of joining a collective effort in stopping the consumption of alcohol. “Please can we all come together & stop drinking,” she tweeted. The tweet was met with many reactions by tweeps, with some saying they were also going to join with the overwhelming majority saying they wouldn’t even bother doing so.
